CFII in 3 days

Accelerated CFII Training: Become a Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument in Just 3 Days

Take your aviation career to the next level with our 3-Day Accelerated CFII Training Program at Centennial Airport (KAPA). Designed for highly motivated pilots with advanced instrument proficiency, this intensive course prepares you to earn your Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument (CFII) rating in just three days. With expert instructors, a focused curriculum, and hands-on flight training, we’ll equip you to pass your CFII checkride and start teaching instrument flying with confidence.

Why Choose Our 3-Day Accelerated CFII Training?

Traditional CFII training can drag on for weeks or months, disrupting your schedule and delaying your career goals. Our accelerated program condenses the process into an immersive, high-intensity experience, ideal for pilots ready to hit the ground running. However, this fast-track option requires exceptional instrument proficiency—you must already be a skilled instrument pilot with a strong foundation in IFR procedures, navigation, and decision-making. If you’re prepared to commit fully, we’ll guide you to CFII certification in record time.

Program Overview: What You’ll Master in 3 Days

Our 3-day program is a rigorous blend of ground and flight training tailored to the FAA’s Airman Certification Standards (ACS) for the CFII rating. You’ll receive approximately 2-3 hours of flight training per day (totaling 6-9 hours), supplemented by intensive ground instruction. Here’s what you’ll cover:

Ground Training: Elevate Your Instructional Skills

  • Fundamentals of Instructing (FOI): Refine your teaching techniques, focusing on how to instruct instrument students in learning theories, scenario-based training, and error correction.
  • Instrument Knowledge: Deep dive into IFR regulations (FAR Part 91), aerodynamics under instrument conditions, weather interpretation (METARs, TAFs, SIGMETs), and airspace rules.
  • Navigation and Systems: Master teaching GPS, VOR, ILS, and RNAV approaches, along with aircraft instrument systems and autopilot usage.
  • Checkride Preparation: Practice explaining complex topics like holding patterns, procedure turns, and missed approaches, as well as preparing lesson plans for instrument training.
  • Scenario-Based Instruction: Learn to handle real-world scenarios, such as teaching a student to manage partial panel failures or unexpected weather changes.

Flight Training: 3-4 Hours Per Day of Hands-On Instruction

The flight portion focuses on demonstrating and teaching instrument maneuvers to Commercial Pilot standards while acting as an instructor. Key areas include:

  • Instrument Approaches: Teach and perform precision (ILS) and non-precision (VOR, RNAV) approaches, including circling and missed approach procedures.
  • Holding Patterns: Demonstrate and instruct proper entry and execution of holds under simulated instrument conditions.
  • Emergency Procedures: Train students on partial panel operations, unusual attitudes, and emergency descents while maintaining instructional control.
  • Navigation and Tracking: Conduct simulated cross-country flights, teaching radial intercepts, course reversals, and diversion planning.
  • Checkride Simulation: Practice mock CFII checkrides, flying and teaching simultaneously while correcting simulated student errors.

Prerequisites: Instrument Proficiency is a Must

This 3-day program is not for beginners. To succeed, you must already possess:

  • A current Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Instrument Rating as well as CFI
  • Advanced proficiency in instrument flying, including consistent performance of approaches, holds, and emergency procedures under simulated or actual IFR conditions.
  • Recent flight experience and familiarity with the aircraft you’ll use (our fleet or your own).

Without this level of skill, the accelerated pace may not allow sufficient time to build the necessary competence. If you’re unsure about your readiness, contact us for a pre-assessment.
